Amy Schumer received both criticism and applause at a show in Florida over the weekend after incorporating every comic’s favorite topic – the race for the presidency – into her show at the Amalie Arena in Tampa.

According to the Tampa Bay Times Schumer began tackling politics about half-way through her show when she called Republican nominee, Donald Trump, an “orange, sexual-assaulting, fake – college-starting monster” and said she couldn’t understand how anyone would support Trump.

After asking a Trump supporter – “preferably one with sleeves” she added – to join her on stage, a section of Trump supporters booed when Schumer asked, “do you not get worried at all with how impulsive he is?”

Around 200 people walked out of the show (the Amalie Arena holds approximately 20,000), after Schumer invited those who booed to leave the show and asked her security to remove the rest.

Speaking to the Tampa Bay Times one concert-goer said “I don’t want to hear that. We wanted to have a good night without distractions with the politics.”

Another member of the audience echoed, “The show became political. I definitely didn’t come to hear this.”

Schumer, who recently revealed she herself had been a victim of abuse, also asked those who were sex abuse victims to stand – an act which drew support from some members of the audience.

Schumer has made no disguise of her political affiliation. The comic announced back in March her support for Hillary Clinton’s campaign and her cousin, Chuck Schumer, a Democrat, is a United States senator.
