Wishbone and Drumstick, two gobblers from Minnesota, were pardoned by President Trump with Drumstick receiving the official reprieve.
During the White House ceremony President Trump joked, “I’m pleased to report that unlike millions of other turkeys at this time of year, Drumstick has a very, very bright future ahead of it.”

The lucky birds will instead join Tater and Tot, the turkeys pardoned by President Obama last year, on the campus of Virginia Tech.
“As many of you know I’ve been very active in overturning a number of executive actions by my predecessor,” Trump said, pertaining to his history of overturning orders put in place by Obama. “However, I have been informed by the White House counsel’s office that Tater and Tot’s pardons cannot, under any circumstances, be revoked…so Tater and Tot, you can rest easy.”
“This Thursday, as we give thanks for our cherished loved ones, let us also renew our bonds of trust, loyalty and affection between our fellow citizens as members of a proud national family of Americans,” Trump said as he ended the ceremony.
