Facebook, in its goal to garner the younger teen market, has acquired popular teen app tbh.

The app, which has gone viral with teens, allows users to swap compliments anonymously by participating in quizzes that ask such things as “best to bring to a party?”, “best smile?” and “world’s best party planner?”

The app has spent weeks in the app stores top ten and scored 2.5 million daily active users over the last nine weeks.

tbh released a statement saying in part, “When we set out to build tbh, we wanted to create a community that made us feel happier and more confident about ourselves. We felt that people craved genuine and positive interactions in their online experiences.”

“When we met with Facebook, we realized that we shared many of the same core values about connecting people through positive interactions….Today we’re announcing that we’re joining Facebook to continue our mission.”

tbh founders will now become formal employees of Facebook and will join Facebook’s Menlo Park headquarters to continue growing their app using all of Facebook’s mass resources.

“Going forward, your experience on tbh won’t change,” tbh’s statement read. “We’ll continue to build the features you love – now with plenty more resources.”
