The First Lady began planning the holiday decor theme during the summer, finally opting for a “Time-Honored Traditions” theme, which takes into account the festive traditions of the White House.
“Like many families across the country, holiday traditions are very important to us,” Mrs. Trump told CNN. “I hope when visiting the People’s House this year, visitors will get a sense of being home for the holidays.”
Wreaths have been hung from the exterior of every window in the White House, the Grand Foyer and Cross Hall feature a “Nutcracker Suite” theme in a nod to Jacqueline Kennedy’s Christmas theme, and in the China Room the Reagan china has been laid out for Christmas dinner.

The official White House Christmas tree has been adorned with glass ornaments depicting the seal of each state and territory and the traditional White House Gingerbread House was baked using 300 pounds of dough!
The White House is anticipating over 25,000 people will view the holiday decoration by the end of December.
