Reality star Kim Kardashian traveled to Washington D.C. to talk prison reform and sentencing with the Trump administration.

It was believed Kardashian would meet with Jared Kushner to discuss the case of 62-year-old great grandmother, Alice Marie Johnson – a woman who is currently serving a life sentence for first time drug charges stemming from a 1996 conviction. According to Vanity Fair Kardashian and Kushner had been in talks for months proceeding Kim’s D.C. visit.

Instead, Kim got to discuss her mission with President Trump in the oval office.

“Great meeting with Kim Kardashian today, talked about prison reform and sentencing,” the president captioned a picture of himself with Kim.

In an interview with Mic, Kardashian revealed she had been moved after learning of Johnson’s story, saying, “I think that she really deserves a second chance at life. I’ll do whatever it takes to get her out…I really do believe that she’s going to really thrive outside of prison, and I would just urge him [Trump] to pardon her.”
