Although it was removed twenty minutes after it was sent out, a tweet from McDonald’s Twitter account blasting President Trump was shared widely before being deleted.
Now the fast food company have revealed their Twitter account was compromised just a day after several other high-profile user accounts – including news organizations and government agencies – were hacked.
The tweet sent from @McDonaldscorp on Thursday morning read, “@realdonaldtrump You are actually a disgusting excuse of a President and we would love to have @BarackObama back, also you have tiny hands.”
Twitter have yet to comment on the security breach, but McDonald’s released a statement, saying, “Based on our investigation, we have determined that our Twitter account was hacked by an external source. We took swift action to secure it, and we apologize this tweet was sent through our corporate McDonald’s account.”
