Former national security advisor Michael Flynn is reportedly selling his home to cover legal bills stemming from the Mueller investigation into Russian meddling during the 2016 election.

Flynn’s brother Joe Flynn revealed the information to ABC News telling them, “I’m not going to sugarcoat it, this has been a trying experience. It has been a crucible and it’s not over.”

Joe Flynn told ABC News the three-bedroom townhouse located in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia was placed on the market in December with an asking price of $895,000.

The retired army general plead guilty to lying to FBI agents about his Russian contacts last year.

According to ABC News, Joe Flynn and other family members set up a defense fund to raise money from supporters and although they would not confirm how much money has been raised from donations they did say they were “surprised and deeply moved” by the thousands of individual donations they received.

ABC News is reporting legal fees in cases such as these can skyrocket, with attorney Solomon Wisenberg telling ABC “Six figures is not at all unusual in a big case like this.”
