Tinder has released a new addition to their popular dating app aimed at students.
Starting today those looking for love on campus can access Tinder’s new feature, Tinder U, available only to college students.
The new app requires users to log in for the first time using a .edu email address and they must be geolocated on campus. Although the feature will basically function the same as the regular Tinder app, a badge depicting which university users go to will be displayed on their main profile image.
“Get ready for the best semester of your life,” Tinder announced in an blog post describing the new app. “Tinder U is a new feature that makes it easier to connect with other students around you – putting their profiles first as you swipe.”
Users need not fear should they exhaust all possibilities on their own campus. Tinder U will allow users to swipe on the profiles of students at nearby schools.
Tinder says the new feature is launching initially on iOS devices at four-year, accredited, not-for-profit schools in the U.S. Online, or virtual schools will not be supported and as of yet the company have released no time frame for the addition of Android devices.
