Donald Trump Confirms Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as VP Pick

Presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump confirmed his pick for vice president via social media on Friday. The real estate mogul-turned politician posted the news to Twitter stating, “I am pleased to announce that I have chosen Governor Mike Pence as my Vice Presidential running mate. News conference tomorrow at 11:00 A.M.”

The revelation of his running mate was to be announced today during a news conference, but was postponed due to the recent attack in Nice, France. Trump writes, “In light of the horrible attack in Nice, France, I have postponed tomorrow’s news conference concerning my Vice Presidential announcement.”

Trump has rescheduled his conference for Saturday at 11 a.m., said to take place in New York Hilton Midtown in Manhattan.

Prior to serving as Indiana Governor, Mike Pence served as a congressman for 12 years.
