Kanye West’s pro-Trump speech on Saturday Night Live was met with a chorus of boos after he delivered an off-air rant wearing a “Make America Great Again” red hat.

The rapper, who was brought in last minute to replace Ariana Grande on the show, reportedly launched into a pro-Trump tirade following his performance of “Ghost Town” as the entire SNL cast stood behind him – and according to the Daily Beast rolled their eyes.

Although the off-the-cuff speech was cut from the on-air show, comedian Chris Rock who was in the audience captured part of it and posted it to his Instagram Story.

“The blacks weren’t always Democrats,” West, who announced on Saturday morning he wants to be known as “Ye” says in the Instagram Story clip. “You know it’s like the plan they did, uh, to take the fathers out the home and promote welfare. Does anybody know about that? That’s a Democratic plan.”

“There’s so many times I talk to, like, a white person about this and they say, ‘How could you like Trump? He’s racist.’ Well, uh, if I was concerned about racism, I would’ve moved out of America a long time ago,” Kanye is heard saying.

News of Kanye’s un-aired speech reached the White House, with President Trump tweeting his support for the rapper, writing, “Like many, I don’t watch Saturday Night Live (even though I past hosted it) – no longer funny, no talent or charm. It is just a political ad for the Dems. Word is that Kanye West, who put on a MAGA hat after the show (despite being told “no”), was great. He’s leading the charge!”
