Just one day after Taylor Swift broke her political silence to express support for Tennessee Democrat Phil Bredesen, White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders has announced rapper Kanye West has been invited to the White House to eat lunch with President Trump on Thursday.

Swift and Kanye have had an ongoing feud ever since the rapper interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, telling the audience Beyonce should have won.

According to Sanders, Kanye will also meet with the president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner to talk about prison reform, manufacturing and preventing gang violence.

Kanye, who deleted his social media accounts this week, recently expressed his support for the president on Saturday Night Live whilst donning a MAGA hat, a move which garnered praise from Trump on Twitter.

“Like many, I don’t watch Saturday Night Live (even though I past hosted it) – no longer funny, no talent or charm,” the president tweeted. “It is just a political ad for the Dems. Word is that Kanye West, who put on a MAGA hat after the show (despite being told “no”), was great. He’s leading the charge!”
