Marie, who sang with brother, Donny Osmond, at Ronald Reagan’s inauguration back in 1981, told Yahoo Finance, “I think when it comes to our country we need to unite. To not support our president whether we’re happy or sad. This is America…We should come together and I think an inauguration should be a time to unite, it really should.”
Since the article published the mother of eight has announced she will be on vacation during the time of Trump’s inauguration on January 20 and would not be able to perform if asked.
Marie released an official statement on Twitter saying, “I try to stay out of politics. I’m an entertainer. My interview statement simply tried to be nice and promote a message of love, not hate.”
