The Pentagon was quick to delete a post that was retweeted on their official Twitter account, which asked for President Trump to resign.

The original post, retweeted to the Pentagon’s 5.2 million followers, read, “The solution is simple…Roy Moore: Step down from the race. Al Franken: Resign from congress. Donald Trump: Resign from the presidency. GOP: Stop making sexual assault as partisan issue. It’s a crime, as is your hypocrisy.”

The original Tweet came from the Twitter feed of @ProudResister.

Chief Pentagon spokeswoman Dana White released a statement on Twitter, explaining the embarrassing incident by revealing, “An authorized operator of the @DeptofDefense’s official Twitter site erroneously retweeted content that would not be endorsed by the Department of Defense. The operator caught this error and immediately deleted it.”
