President Trump touched down in Hanoi, Vietnam this week for his second summit with North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un.

The two leaders met for dinner at the Metropole Hotel in downtown Hanoi to open up what will hopefully be a dialogue to discuss steps for North Korea to dismantle its nuclear weapons program.

The president has been providing updates via Twitter, tweeting shortly after his arrival, “Just arrived in Vietnam. Thank you to all of the people for the great reception in Hanoi. Tremendous crowds, and so much love!”

“Vietnam is thriving like few places on earth. North Korea would be the same, and very quickly, if it would denuclearize,” the president tweeted of his hopes for the notoriously private communist country. “The potential is AWESOME, a great opportunity, like almost none other in history, for my friend Kim Jong-un. We will know fairly soon – Very Interesting!”

“I think your country has tremendous economic potential,” President Trump told the North Korean leader as they posed for photos in front of a roomful of journalists. “I think you will have a tremendous future with your country — a great leader. And I look forward to watching it happen and helping it to happen.”
