With the partial government shutdown now entering its 18th day, the president is taking his case for a border wall to prime-time TV.
I am pleased to inform you that I will Address the Nation on the Humanitarian and National Security crisis on our Southern Border. Tuesday night at 9:00 P.M. Eastern.

According to the Associated Press, it is likely the president’s address will focus on arguing the southern border with Mexico is a national security crisis, which requires a wall or some sort of impenetrable barrier be erected. Following his Oval Office address, Trump will travel to the southern border on Thursday where press secretary Sarah Sanders says the president will “meet with those on the front lines of the national security and humanitarian crisis.”

The major television networks, including NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS and Fox broadcast network, have all agreed to the White House’s request for air time and will provide full coverage of the president’s address on border security. CNN, Fox News and MSNBC will also air the live address.
According to CNN, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer released a joint statement saying they should be given equal air time to respond to the president’s speech and his request for $5.7 billion to build a wall along the border with Mexico.
Now that the television networks have decided to air @realDonaldTrump’s address, which if his past statements are any indication will be full of malice and misinformation, Democrats must immediately be given equal airtime.
