The First Lady’s plane was forced to turn around and return to a Washington D.C. area military base after smoke filled the cabin.
According to reporters traveling with Mrs. Trump, the plane was about ten minutes into its flight when smoke began to infiltrate the cabin, causing Secret Service Agents to rush to the front of the plane.
The First Lady had been scheduled to visit a Philadelphia hospital to meet with the families of children affected by opioids in the womb as part of her “Be Best” campaign.
“Everyone is fine and everyone is safe,” the First Lady’s spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said following the incident. Mrs. Trump still made it to Philadelphia via a different plane.
