Snapchat’s new location update will give your followers your location 24/7 – unless you go in and change it.
I don't compliment Snapchat much but I'm obsessed with the new Snap Map! pic.twitter.com/ycNjVfLKvw

The app’s latest update allows users to add their location to a world map, which will help them see the location of their friends and any events that are going on close to where they are located.

If you choose to add your location to a world map you then are asked who you want to see your location – friends, certain specified friends, or ‘ghost mode’ meaning only you.
The first time you enter Snap Map, you choose who to share your location with. We won't show you on the Map before then!

If you want to keep your location private at all times make sure you choose ‘ghost mode.’
