President Trump has claimed victory and vindication after the Mueller investigation found the Trump campaign did not collude with Russia.

“It was a complete and total exoneration,” Mr. Trump told reporters in Florida before boarding Air Force One. “It’s a shame that our country had to go through this. To be honest, it’s a shame that your president has had to go through this.”

The nearly two-year investigation led by Robert Mueller found no evidence that President Trump or any of his aides coordinated with the Russian government’s 2016 election interference, according to a summary of the findings by Attorney General William P. Barr.

“No Collusion, No Obstruction, Complete and Total EXONERATION. KEEP AMERICA GREAT!” the president tweeted.

“While this was a great vindication for @realDonaldTrump & our family, it was an equally amazing day for all of his incredible supporters who stood by him faithfully despite a #fakenews media & Democrat onslaught the likes of which has never happened in our history. Thank you all!” Donald Trump Jr. tweeted following the news.

Ivanka Trump, the president’s eldest daughter chose to quote Abraham Lincoln, tweeting, “Truth is generally the best vindication against slander.”

While the Mueller report does not conclude that the president committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him on the obstruction of justice issue.
